Since the establishment of MYLA, one of the key activities is to provide legal education and training to young lawyers as one of the ways to strengthen their capacity and practical legal skills. In addition to training young lawyers, we provide appropriate training in the field of human rights to government institutions, judiciary, municipalities, lawyers, civil society organizations, as well as to citizens. MYLA\u2019s legal education program is strategic and it includes modules focused on human rights protection and the fulfillment of the principle of the rule of law, as well as a systemic approach to organizing events. This improves the quality of our legal education activities to help our beneficiaries acquire knowledge and gain relevant practical skills.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Internship Program<\/h3>\n

Macedonian Young Lawyers Association\u00a0 aims to strengthen the contribution of young lawyers in advancing the legal profession and achieving the principle of rule of law and protection of human rights. MYLA realizes its mission by providing continuous education and support to young lawyers who participate in project activities that improve their legal expertise.<\/p>\n

Internship Program for young lawyers<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

MYLA started implementating the Internship Program in March 2015, in order to strengthen the professionalism and build the capacity of young lawyers. The Program provides practical work for young lawyers to learn and become competitive in the labor market, and offers trainings that help them gain additional knowledge and skills.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Internship program 2015-2017<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

In March 2015, MYLA started implementing an Internship Program with the aim of strengthening the capacities of young lawyers and creating a cohort of lawyers capable of challenging the legal system and building a practice for the protection of human rights and fundamental democratic values guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia.<\/p>\n

The Internship Program included:<\/p>\n

\u2013 Basic and advanced training in the field of human rights<\/p>\n

\u2013 Two-month practical work<\/p>\n

In the period from 2015-2017, 392 young lawyers successfully completed the Internship Program and had the opportunity to gain practical legal experience through two-month practical work in 23 judicial institutions, 19 law firms and 5 professional associations. The program was implemented in 13 cities in our country: Skopje, Tetovo, Gostivar, Kicevo, Debar, Struga, Ohrid, Bitola, Prilep, Kavadarci, Stumica, Shtip and Delchevo.<\/p>\n

During this period, 28 basic and advanced human rights trainings were conducted for young lawyers.<\/p>\n

During this period, the Internship Program was implemented under the USAID Human Rights Protection Project.<\/em><\/p>\n
