CALL FOR PROPOSAL PROJECTS FOR PROMOTING ACCESS TO ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL RIGHTS OF VULNERABLE CATEGORIES OF FOREIGNERS IN NORTH MACEDONIA

In a significant joint effort, the coalition of civil society organizations from the Western Balkans (BRMC) implements the project “Inclusion of foreigners in the Western Balkans – access to social and economic rights (FOSTER)”. This action represents a regional response of 7 civil society organizations united in the Balkan Refugee and Migration Council (BRMC) and the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) to address common challenges related to migration in the Western Balkans region, with a focus on basic human rights of various vulnerable groups of migrants and foreigners, especially their access to social and economic rights. The project is financed by the European Union within the framework of the Civil Society and Media Program for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2021-2023 under the priority “Human rights, anti-discrimination and intercultural dialogue”.

Basically, the FOSTER project strives to ensure the comprehensive protection and promotion of the fundamental rights of foreigners in the Western Balkans, with a specific emphasis on the economic and social rights of vulnerable individuals. Through the strengthened capacities of CSOs and human rights institutions, this joint initiative aims to contribute to policy making, to promote and protect the rights of vulnerable foreigners and facilitate their inclusion in sustainable social and economic development.

The coalition of civic organizations involved in the FOSTER project covers the Western Balkans and invites local non-profit organizations to propose activities aligned with the project’s goals. This collaborative approach includes workshops, training, legal aid, psychosocial support, health services, awareness campaigns, media engagement, policy monitoring and advocacy activities.

Non-profit organizations founded before December 1, 2023 in RNM can apply for a grant of 5,500.00 euros. The total number of grants is a maximum of four. The application deadline is January 20, 2024.

An online information session about the selection process and project implementation is scheduled for December 27, 2023. Applicants can register for the information session at contact@myla.org.mk before December 26, 2023.
