Macedonian Young Lawyers Association

Macedonian Young Lawyers Association (MYLA) is an independent, non-profit, professional organization established in 2003, which provides legal aid and strategic litigation for protection of human rights.

2003

On December 19, 2003, 10 young lawyers in the office of the American Bar Association in Skopje founded the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association.

2004

The first MYLA office was opened in Skopje Center (Church of Saint Clement of Ohrid) in 2004.

2005

MYLA is the first organization in Macedonia to organize training for jurists and lawyers about the ECHR.

2006

MYLA starts providing free legal aid to the most vulnerable categories and establishes an internship program in the judicial institutions in the Republic of Macedonia.

2016

In 2016 MYLA operates in 6 offices: Skopje, Suto Orizari, Vizbegovo, Vinojug, Tabanovce, and Gevgelija with a total of 39 employees.

2018

In December 2018, MYLA commemorated 15 years of existence, 18,399 persons who were provided with legal aid, 486 court proceedings, 114 publications, 352 events…
