Conference: “Halfway- reception and return of unaccompanied migrant minors”

image-0-02-05-b65b89d08448ea7da7a492985d14dab1f5499f468cc8682f1e49130452cae866-VGrupa 484 and Macedonian Young Lawyers Association, in cooperation with the Dutch Council for Refugees , within the project “Prochild- towards the real protection of unaccompanied and separated migrant children”, held a conference today in Belgrade titled “Halfway-  reception and return of unaccompanied migrant minors”. At the conference there were participants from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of the Republic of Macedonia, the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, Sector for asylum, migration and humanitarian assistance from R.Macedonia, Center for social work in Skopje, Center for foster care and adoption from Belgrade, te Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands, UNHCR Representative in the Republic of Serbia, Save the Children, IOM, Group 484 and MYLA.

media-share-0-02-05-68a71863287d6f493b235b4d3cebc3dda8a532c05448d84552e0655eec0c4082-66ba945e-8cf2-499d-9760-99285719e809As an important result of the project work, Katlijn Silevis of the Dutch Council for Refugees presented the Manual for effective protection of unaccompanied and separated migrant children in Serbia and Macedonia, while Miroslava Jelacic-Kojic from Group 484 presented the discussion paper produced by representatives  of MYLA and Grupa 484, titled “Unaccompanied and separated minors in the return process”.

 Zoran Drangovski, MYLA’s president  who was present there, said, “… we need more cooperation between R.Macedonia and R. Serbia, and a regular exchange of information, as well as building a common approach for the protection of unaccompanied and separated migrant minors. “
